Fresh sardine dinner

We bought tiny fresh sardines for dinner. (My first time to eat a fresh sardine!) They were filleted, cleaned and boned, and were full of tiny needle bones that made the fish slightly crunchy. The Silver Spoon told me to serve them with a sauce made from lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, chili and olive oil. I drizzled some over the fish, after it had grilled in a non-stick pan for about 5 minutes. I wasn't prepared for how incredibly fragile they'd be: it was tough to lift them gently out without damaging their flesh or shape. They tasted heavenly.

We served them with some fried potato slices, tossed in parsley, and steamed green beans.
