Rocklea Markets: what I bought

A bottle of 'Mary Byrnes' viognier wine, grown at Ballandean. I bought it from Mary's husband Alan who runs a small wine stall at the markets. They also grow rosé and a few varieties of red. Only $5- thanks Alan!

A giant bunch of basil, a half-kilo punnet of tiny sweet strawberries (that have never even SEEN a refrigerator), a bag of tomatoes and a bag of Lebanese cucumbers.
Some perfect and sweet cherries. I made a quick rosemary syrup and splashed it over them. The flavours were beautiful.

Marinated mushrooms and an olive sourdough baguette. Sol Breads at West End has a stall running at the markets. The mushrooms were juicy, tangy and flavoured with bay leaf.
