My Christmas ham
Oh, it was my first ham. I know it probably wasn't a masterpiece, but I tried. I removed the rind and a lot of the fat, scored it into diamonds, poked a clove into each diamond, shoved it in the oven for a while and then painted it every 10-15 minutes with my own Magical Ham Glaze of Leftover Fridge Inhabitants.
The glaze contained plum jam, chili, Dijon mustard, Coke Zero, white vinegar and cardamom. Next year I will be sure to prepare a real ham glaze, and not just invent one out of the fridge. But the result was pretty good. The terrible terrible oven doesn't seem to have a problem with ham. This is good to know.
