Broadway Hotel Farmers & Growers Markets

The Broadway Hotel is on the corner of Logan Rd and Balaclava St, Wooloongabba. It looks like a giant blue castle. Quite weird. Recently they've started running these farmers' markets on a Saturday morning (until midday). The markets are not too big, only about 20 to 30 stalls, but they are lovely, close to the city and with some great produce.
Be sure to visit the mushroom guy ($3 for half a kilo of beautiful fresh mushrooms, various sizes. A great deal at any price!), the honey people (tea tree, yum) and the flower lady. Cheap, cheap, cheap. Fantastic deals on free-range eggs. There are two butcher vans there, but the meat is prepacked and vacuum-sealed. Not a problem for some, but it means your quantity choices are limited. Good wagyu beef. I bought a lettuce that had been picked that very morning from the grower's garden at Gatton: so tasty!
