Cream Patisserie Boulangerie at Coorparoo

I'll say this for them: they make the best Italian hot chocolate in town. Even if their Coorparoo location is right on Cavendish Rd. That metal lacework they've got protecting their diners from the carpark needs a big white bougainvillea growing all over it, to pretty it up. Also, to preserve the classiness they've gained by virtue of their excellent food and coffee: their location certainly didn't do 'em no favours. Although I hear their other location at Portside at Hamilton is much more fitting to the store's lovely old-school atmosphere.
Glue your face to the window to choose your gorgeous little tart, cake, pastry or meringue: between about $3.50 and $6.50 per treat. Then take a seat and allow the tastiness to come to you.
We had a chocolate madeleine, nicely warmed up (without being asked to- nice work), and a lemon meringue tart, crispy top, with cream on the side. Excellent. Can never decide what to choose... all the options are so delicious! Definitely worth a visit.
Cute and very afternoon-tea-like homewares stores next door as well... nice example of parallel marketing at work.
Yay for Cream! As soon as it gets cold again, I'll be down there for a hot chocolate.
