It was a gorgeous little spot: tucked away down the road from Stanthorpe, just past Ballandean, was a little place called Heavenly Chocolate. They have a good selection of handmade chocs and some commercially-made interesting-looking ones too, but the real temptation was the European hot chocolate in over twenty flavours! The shop has B&B accommodation attached, and is shrouded in trees where native birds stuff themselves stupid on the birdfeeders hung throughout. Old planter chairs create a cosy spot on the front step, or you can take your lovely little tray of hot chocolate

(complete with complementary chocolates) down to the garden: surrounded by plants, shaded from the sun, and next to the enormous chook run where you can watch them picking through the grass and fluffing themselves up.
I had the chocolate with chili, and it was perfect, with a good kick of heat (as it should be!) The ideal

spot to kill half an hour and regenerate.
