Brisbane fashion
You know it's winter in Brisbane when you start seeing people dressed like circus clowns. Shorts, thongs and a scarf. Floaty summer dress with giant ugly polyester wraps from Kmart. Wintery suits, worn with open-toed sandals.
I just don't get it...recently at the train station I saw a young woman with a scarf hanging from her neck, wearing a summer T shirt, skirt and open shoes. What made it worse was that the scarf (which bore no relation to the outfit throught colour, texture or seasonal suitability) was clipped together at the front with a plastic hair clip. The ones with the spider claws.
If you're cold enough for a scarf, surely you need to wear something more substantial than summer gear. Maybe because Brisbane is only briefly cold, we never have time to properly organise a winter wardrobe......no, that's a terrible excuse.
No wonder southerners moan about our terrible dress sense.

yep. sounds totally crap. Maybe she had an excuse; maybe her house burnt down and that's all she could get together to catch the train into the insurance company headquarters to sort out the process of recovering her exquisite vintage collection that burnt to ashes.
