Sirianni Spar at Emporium, Fortitude Valley

I like this place. It's like a normal Spar (or Spam, as we call them), except it has a larger range, higher-quality

Euro-style merchandise, and a giant and comprehensive deli out the back. Almost like a super-supermarket, which I guess is a nod to the clientele they cater for: the professional types who live and work in the Emporium complex.

They have a lot of stuff that you'd otherwise have to go to speciality stores for: imported cheeses and smallgoods, top-quality dried pasta, various fresh antipasto, lots of jars of exciting tapenades and preserved fruits, and a good selection of attractive ready-to-go meals in the cold cabinet.

Personally, I visit for the spicy Dutch gouda. Caraway seeds and dairy are a match made in heaven.
