Valentine's Day dinner
Well, we sure as hell ain't going OUT to dinner. Crowded, full of expectation, expensive.
The only solution is to stay in and cook. It's a weeknight though, so it will have to be something relatively quick and simple.
Here's some ideas that I am currently considering:
- Fettucine with pancetta, garlic, parsley and tomato
- Steak with jacket potatoes and green salad
- Cheese omelette
- Sticky barbecue ribs and crispy salad
- Poached chicken with green beans and aioli
*Note: I went with sticky baked chicken legs, jacket potatoes with cheese and a baby spinach salad. The legs were not bad: fairly flavourless though. I was not that impressed. Oh well, there's always next year!

Wow! That sounds great, and nothing beats a meal cooked with love. My boyfriend has booked us in at the Mexican (!) restaurant in Coorparoo. How romantic :)
PS: What kind of flavours do you add to your poached chicken?
Poach it in water with a little chicken stock added, or just some salt. When done, fresh oregano / basil with the garlic aioli!!!
Can't beat it!!
Enjoy your Mexican... it will be a fun night!
