
I went on an overnight weekend jaunt to Melbourne. Straight from the airport to
Flower Drum, which they say is one of the best Cantonese restaurants in Australia. We had a fantastic and giant lunch:
Shanghai beer
Scallop dumplings
Pearl oyster meat with asparagus
Deep-fried whitebait with salt-and-pepper dip and lemon juice
Peking duck pancakes
Mandarin pork spare ribs (not pictured)
It was definitely a wonderful meal. The scallop dumplings were a highlight: you can see the full menu
here. The whitebait was crisp and light, the duck was moist and tender, the beer was smooth and icy. More reviews
